Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and returns any result. Luce County Court Docket does not keep or log those entered search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained so a reply can be provided. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers can receive ordinary technical information about the visit:
- The IP address used by the device
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Referring site, when one is available
- Time information for page views
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a device. They help measure aggregate traffic patterns and page use. Analytics services may help summarize that information. Browser controls can block cookies, though some functions can respond differently when cookies are blocked.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating and improving page delivery
- Routing a search query to the applicable partner service
- Evaluating which reference pages are useful
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Delivering advertising that can reflect interests
No Court-Record Data on File
This resource does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case information. It provides routing information for Luce County courts, custodians, and the Michigan statewide case-search system. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party records.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, retention choices, and sharing practices apply to information submitted to their tools, not this policy. Review a provider's terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
The resource links to clerk pages, Michigan court portals, case-search systems, and outside search tools. An external link transfers the visitor to a separate service with its own privacy policy. Read that policy before sharing personal information.
Advertising providers can track activity across websites for ad delivery. That activity occurs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. It can be received by:
- Search providers processing a query
- Analytics services measuring traffic and performance
- Ad networks that serve advertisements
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal requirement
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. Internet transmission has unavoidable risk, however, and no promise can be made that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor's information appears to have been submitted, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Data Rights
Michigan's court-record access framework is distinct from this private site's visitor data. Public court records are governed by MCR 8.119 and MCR 1.109. Michigan Freedom of Information Act requests under MCL 15.231 et seq. concern public-body records and do not bypass a court-record restriction. At a minimum, you may:
- Request a copy of personal information held about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion of information where appropriate
- Opt out of specified processing where available
Updates to This Policy
This policy can change. A revised version will be posted here with an updated effective date.
